Reports: Former Braves pitcher Tommy Hanson dead at 29

The former Atlanta Braves pitcher Tommy Hanson died due to catastrophic organ versa king, according to various reports.

The news comes as a great shock to the baseball world. Although Hanson not pitched in the majors since 2013, he was still an active player. Hanson has the season 2015 in the San Francisco Giants minor-league system. He’s pitching on an embankment just a few weeks ago.

Details surrounding the death Hanson’s is somewhat unclear at this time. It was first reported early Monday that Hanson was in a coma in a local Atlanta hospital. The Angels sent out a tweet shortly after the report, sending their thoughts Hanson, but has not provided details about the situation.

Little later Hanson “catastrophic organ versa king,” and that the injury situation was dire.

A few hours later, Klein reported that Hanson died. The Braves later confirmed the report. Hanson was 29 years old.

Hanson has four of his five major league seasons as a member of the Braves. He went through the organization and has the promise immediate, overall fourth position on the list of Baseball America’s top prospect for the 2009 season.

Hanson has his debut season and was sensational. As a 22-year-old Hanson posted a 2.89 ERA over 21 begun. He finished third in the Rookie of the Year voting.

“I have psychological problems with the death of my younger brother,” said Hanson, 26, two years older than his deceased brother. “I just tried to get through it. I did not know how to handle it.

After the 2013 season, Hanson reported by the Chicago White Sox. He posted a 6.16 ERA over 49 2/3 turn with the team’s Triple-A. He signed with the club giants for the 2015 season will be comeback.
